As everyone knows, personal hygiene is very important aspect of the overall health. However, the contact with microorganisms and bacteria on a daily basis is inevitable. Usually, they enter our organism through the skin, hair, clothes, etc.
Bacteria can enter your organism through a handshake, when you touch the elevator buttons, or the door knob at work, etc. Even though you shower regularly and try to stay clean as much as possible, one body part is not easily accessible. This part remains dirty even after showering. This body part is the navel- the dirtiest part of the body as it contains a lot of bacteria and germs.
This is because the navel has an indrawn shape which makes it easy for the debris to pile up and remain there for a longer period of time, thus, causing strong and unpleasant smell as well as serious infections. If a person’s navel is more indrawn than protruding, a research has showed that it can gather up to 70 types of bacteria, despite of good hygiene.

If your navel is indrawn, wash it like this:
- Soak a cotton swab in a bit of rubbing alcohol and then gently cleanse the area before going into the bathtub. While bathing, use another swab with a bit of showering gel on it, and cleanse the navel once more. Next, rinse the area with warm water and when you’re done, make sure you pat the belly button dry.
If your navel is protruding, wash it like this:
- Apply a bit of showering gel on a cotton towel and gently cleanse the navel with it. Afterwards, rinse the area with warm water and pat the area dry.
