25-year-old Fiona Kerrigan noticed a red rash on maternity belly and knew that something was wrong. Fiona was in the third trimester, and had a relatively trouble-free pregnancy. The doctors diagnosed her at the end of polymorphic eruption of pregnancy, or PEP, type of allergy on the skin.
This allergy occurs due to pregnancy. Although PEP is unusual, it occurs in the last trimester of the first pregnancy, but withdraws after birth.
